sa-FORD is a contract research organization that has established its name as a leading service provider for toxicology research in India. It is located at Taloja in Navi Mumbai and was established in 2008 by a team of German and Indian scientists with a view to provide regulatory research solutions to clients from the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and chemical industry. In 2011, the lab was awarded certification for OECD-GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) by the National GLP-Compliance Monitoring Authority of India, which operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. Currently, sa-FORD mainly takes up non-clinical research projects and offers a range of services in the areas of Chemistry, Toxicology and Pathology under the scope of GLP. Standing true to its vision, it has already worked for clients from the Americas, Europe, Australia, South-East and Eastern Asia and of-course, the Indian sub-continent. The clients have successfully submitted reports generated from sa-FORD for registration of their products to various government agencies globally, including in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Europe, India, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius , Mexico, Paraguay, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tunisia , USA and more. Going beyond non-clinical safety assessment of chemical entities, sa-FORD also offers research services for drug-development, such as customized assays to analyse efficacy of pharmaceutical products and formulations.

In keeping with the requirements of today, sa-FORD also takes utmost care to update its animal use and ethics policies and in this line, it has received full accreditation from AAALAC international the only organization giving such recognition for animal care and use programmes globally. Additionally, the company is working towards reducing the need of animals for research and is developing alternative assays which can eventually replace certain animal-based studies.

In addition to a state-of-the-art lab and animal house set-up, the company boasts of several experienced study directors and study personnel at the helm of their projects. These include analytical and organic chemists, toxico-pharmacologists, veterinary pathologists, pharmacists and scientists from the fields of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Zoology.
